So what if you get what you really like, only at a time that totally sucks?
I love snow. I mean LOVE it. I love watching it flutter down to the ground, and cover everything with that soft cold blanket. I love the soft sound it makes (have you ever listened?) when it snows... I even love the unique icy steel white/grey of the sky just before the snows come. I love the way the landscape looks when covered in snow, all clean and white and fresh. It's like Mother Nature's paintbrush, putting a highlight on every branch, twig, and leaf. Tomorrow it is supposed to start snowing, and at the end of the storm we are expecting 4 to 8 inches of the white stuff.
Normally I would be ecstatic. Really. I don't even mind that people can't drive here in the snow, or that the kids probably will end up with a day off from school. But on Tuesday my appliances are supposed to be delivered to the new house. These are the appliances that we absolutely MUST have to get our Use and Occupancy permit before our house closes. If we don't get the appliances this Tuesday, the store doesn't deliver again until the following Tuesday, and that just is not enough time to get them delivered and hooked up before we close.
Which means closing wouldn't happen, and neither would Christmas in our new home. I have told the spouse that we should take the morning off from work, get a trailer and go pick up our stuff before the storm hits. That way, they're delivered, in the house, ready to go no matter the weather.
His answer? We wait and see until Wednesday...if the appliances don't get delivered on Tuesday we'll go Wednesday. With 8 inches of snow on the ground? Yeah right.
It's supposed to be easy, right? If it's meant to be it is supposed to be easy. It has been easy so far.
Maybe I was due for a little rain on my parade. Damn the luck that it would have to be snow.
