Okay so I was ordered to update. A certain friend was tired of seeing the same stuff on the ol' blog...
Okay so I'm going to VEGAS! A friend and I are leaving on a jet plane and soon. I'm SO excited, so here's a lil' ticker to count down the days.
And it's puppycam time. The update is below, but I figure anyone who wants to watch my lovelies, can do so
Okay, so call me a sucker...
Here's an update on the litter of pups born to Treasure's Lady Genevive and Freedom's Prince Kenji:
The babies are 8 weeks old this week. Of the 11, 8 are spoken for. There are four left, two males and two females. The males that are left are the one we called "Kenji Jr." and his twin brother. The females that are left, one looks like Mama Jenna and the other looks more like my boy. Jenna has a rounder head and a longer finer muzzle than Kenji. Kenji looks like the MGM lion. Three females have Jenna's bone structure, and one of the males. The rest all seem to have short
snouts and faces like Kenj.
The runt, named "Sophie" is the most rambunctious of the group. She looks like her Mama, although darker. She is EVERYWHERE and she pesters her brothers and sisters to death. What a personality!
The darkest coat is on a female named "Sabrina." She's sweet, and the color of coffee with lots of cream. She also has Jenna's fine bone structure.
"Samantha" is going to an older couple who lost their golden. Samantha looks like Kenji. She's broad, weighing more than the rest and has Kenji's open, broad features. The couple who lost their baby (after twelve years) had a female that was more fine-boned, and petite. They originally wanted Kenji Jr., but then decided they'd rather have the female that looks the most like Kenji.
The lightest coat belongs to the male named "Magic." He's nearly white, more like the lightest blonde streaks in my hair. (How's THAT for a comparison?)
Nancy and Jay are keeping a male named "Shiloh." He's Mr. Laid Back that's for sure. While the pack was playing and rough-housing, Shiloh was taking a nap. His formal name will be Genevive's Freedom Prince Shiloh.
The brother who looks like Jenna is also spoken for, and I cannot remember his name. He's not as comatose as Shiloh, but not as rambunctious as some of the others.
There's also another male pup who they call "Red" because of his collar. Red has the distinction of being the puppy who chews. He tried to eat through the fence in the backyard! His daddy ate our deck railing, so I guess he comes by it honestly?
So that leaves the four... The Spouse and I are considering taking the female who looks like Mama Jenna. Her working nickname is "Cyan" because of the collar she wears. I know, we're idiots. My heart just melts at Kenji Jr., though, who was the puppy born when I got the word that Jenna was whelping. He has always been the "roundest" male... and by the looks of his paws, he'll probably be big like his Daddy. The kids have nicknamed him Spiderman because he climbs the fences. I hope
someone who gets him keeps in touch.
So, that's the update, by the end of next week there is the good possibility that they'll all be gone. Get in the view time on the web cam while you can.... *sniff* Mama Jenna is being fixed, and should we get a female we'll probably have Kenji fixed as well. They're a beautiful litter of babies though, and I'm very glad we had the opportunity to be their human grandparents.
