WTF?

Okay what is it with people and their moods? I am exhausted trying to keep up with the shifting moods of those around me, and my own kaleidescope of emotion. One moment I'm up, the next I'm down, usually influenced by a shift of someone close to me. Mainly, I'm bewildered, unsure, and I don't like THAT feeling at all. I am on a rollercoaster, and although I usually love them, of late I feel rather like throwing up.

I know what I know, although I may not be able to express how I know it. However I am wrestling with what I do NOT know, and how uneasy I feel when the rules change without me. My head hurts, and my heart hurts worse. I try valiantly to understand why people do the things they do, and to respect their decisions.

However that doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt, it does.

Some days are very very good.

It is these good days that make the bad ones worth suffering through. It is the good days that remind you of how damned good it feels to be alive.

It is the good days when everything feels better, senses are sharpened, and you revel in every second.

Today I had one of those days.

"We are all in this alone..."

A quote from Nancy Reagan, who just lost her husband. Ronald Reagan was the first President I ever voted for. Ironic in a way, that he would die at this most confusing time in my life. Reagan marked my passage into adulthood, or what I thought was adulthood, and yet now he's gone and so am I.

The choice has been made. And I truly am in this alone. There is no winning in my current situation here at home. I am telling my male friends goodbye, even though I've done NOTHING wrong except be myself. I've used one particular fellow to divert my attention off of my own problems and perhaps gain further insight into the mind of a male.

It didn't work, apparently. It only made things worse. So I will create the distance that my spouse needs me to create from this friend and any others that make him uncomfortable. Even as I am doing so, he isn't happy about that either, because now he feels guilty.

So what do I do?

Realize that I cannot win... and that we all are in this alone.
